AU Optronics located in Taiwan, is one the world’s leading TFT manufacturers. It has a wide range of products and screen sizes, from small screens 10.9 cm (4.3") to mid-size screens 26.4 cm (10.4") up to the large screens 60.9 cm (24").
AUO has this year successfully changed its product range from using CCFL backlight TFTs to the power saving LED backlight TFTs. An LED converter is already integrated in nearly all of its new products. In addition to the standard square format of 4 by 3, AUO has introduced TFT screens in wide screen format. For wide format panels AUO guarantees a long term availability of minimum 3 years. However recent history has shown that this availability is usually much longer. The wide screen is also available in the 16 to 9 format and has a wide range of screen sizes, starting from 39.6 cm (15.6"), 46.9 cm (18.5"), 43.9 cm (17.3"), 54.6 cm (21.5") up to 60.9 cm (24"). Beginning from a size of 43.9 cm (17.3"), the resolution of the panel is FHD with 1920 x 1080 dots. Modules can often be exchanged to versions with much better technical features such as extended temperature range or better viewing angles while still maintaining 100% compatibility.
The NEW G215HVN01.0 V0 in MVA-technology (wide viewing angle) with a screen size of 54.6 cm (21.5") has got a brightness of 300 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 5000:1. These features make this product highly adaptable and suitable for a wide range of applications. Overview General Displays

Lanner Electronics released the LEC-7105, a rugged mid-range digital signage player. Using the Intel Atom D525, this fanless appliance boasts a 1.8GHz embedded CPU, which comes with extra Intel features such as Intel graphics and high bandwidth LAN ports. The embedded system is designed for digital signage and other industrial applications. It features both VGA and DVI video outputs along with an eSATA connector to attach to external storage devices. The LEC-7105 is designed to use the dual core Intel Atom D525 (1.8GHz). This low electricity consuming CPU allows the platform to be both fanless and dust proof. This system uses the Intel ICH8M chipset along with up to 4GBs of DDR3 memory. One of the stand-out features of the LEC-7105 is its external eSATA connector. This I/O port powers and connects external SATA devices and offers connection speeds of up to 3GB per second.
