AKM launched the AK4687, an asynchronous stereo audio CODEC with a 3:1 stereo input selector and a stereo line driver. It is the newest product in the AKM Audio4home family, and the latest in a series of single chip audio CODEC’s for DTV applications that are already widely used in digital televisions.

The AK4687 is a single chip audio CODEC ideal for AV applications, such as Blu-ray recorders, home theater systems and digital TV’s. An integrated 3:1 stereo input selector enables the AK4687 to accept multiple analog and digital input sources, required for multi-function AV systems. The input range for the integrated three–input stereo pre-amplifier can be adjusted with an external resistor, optimizing the device for recording applications. The AK4687 has a charge pump circuit for generating a negative power supply, allowing the stereo selector and stereo driver to operate with ground-referenced 2Vrms direct input and output audio signals. The SM2101 contains a complete packet data modem with the network protocol of ANSI/IEC 709.1/2 standards allowing the development of popular narrow band PLC networks. SM2101 is the modem only version of the SM6401 Power Line Communication (PLC) transceiver which utilizes the ultra reliable and versatile power line transceiver components of the SM6401, while eliminating the embedded Flash and application microcontroller (MCU) to provide a more cost effective solution for high volume PLC applications on low or medium voltage power line networks for uses such as smart metering and home automation. The HV9801A LED driver is ideally suited for switch dimmable applications using LED bulbs and fixtures. Through switch dimming, the lamp can be adjusted to four discrete brightness levels by rapid cycling of the light switch. The brightness levels are traversed in up and down manner. Brightness resumes at the highest level when power is removed for more than a second. The device can be powered directly from rectified AC through an internal VDD regulator rated at 450V. Bridgelux launched its Decor line of ultra-high color rendering index (CRI) LED arrays. With a CRI of 97 and a 3-step MacAdams Elipse color control option, the Decor arrays enable lighting designers to truly render a full palette of colors over a wide range of light levels to create stunning and sophisticated lighting effects. Delivering 1200 to 2500 lumens, these new arrays have been spectrally engineered to closely replicate the light quality of halogen and incandescent light sources. These arrays deliver R9 and R15 values of 98, to both enhance reds and represent skin tones accurately, ensuring clean and natural lighting. The Decor series expands lighting options available to the lighting designer, complimenting the standard minimum 80 and minimum 90 CRI products already available from Bridgelux. The Decor arrays deliver light output equivalent to a 75 – 150 watt halogen bulb, while using only 25 – 50 watts of power.

The Dog series' small size (39x42mm) is compatible with any flush-mounting box and makes them ideal for building installation applications. They are also perfect for 19" racks and can be easily integrated in the front panels of devices measuring 1 U in height.
The displays have a resolution of 102x64 pixels. LCD supertwist technology ensures good contrast. Several variants are offered and differ in their LED background illumination, which includes white, amber, and green/red. A variant with a white, non-illuminated background is also available. The LED elements have a service life of up to 100,000 hours of operation.
A 2.5 to 3.3-volt power supply is all that is required to operate the displays. This, combined with their exceptionally low power consumption of 250µA (typ.), predestine the displays for use in battery-powered devices. Datasheet

IQD Frequency Products launched a new range of high specification crystals for specialist applications such as military, radar and pagers. Manufactured at its IQD FOQ division inGermany, the crystals are available in a variety of package styles including UM1, HC49, HC43CW (TO8) and HC45CW. For the highest possible ‘Q’ factor, customers should specify the Cold Weld (CW) packages. The ‘Q’ factor is a measurement of the loss of energy within the quartz. This is effected by the quality of the blank, surface finish (lapping), mounting technique and sealing. The higher the ‘Q’ factor the better the crystal. The higher the frequency the more important the ‘Q’ factor is to the Design Engineer. The maximum attainable short term stability of a crystal also depends on the ‘Q’ value.Read more

W+P launched a new PCI Express Connector series (124 and 1240) to transmit high data rates up to 8 000 MB/s. The full duplex card edge connectors support the PCI Express 3.0 standard, they are entirely compatible to PCI drivers and applications. The new series implement the PCI Express architecture in Industrial and Desktop PCs, Workstations and Servers, they enable the connection of peripherical equipment with data of the main processor.
