The Digi Connect ME 9210 module is an ultra-compact embedded module based on Digi's new and powerful NS9210 processor. It can provide future application-specific interface options (CAN, 1-Wire, UART, USB device etc.) through its unique on-chip Flexible Interface Module (FIM), while still keeping the main serial port or other peripheral interfaces available. The new MiniCore RCM5700 module packs a rich embedded feature set on an ultra-compact mini PCI Express form factor, with a size of only 1.2 x 2 at a very low price. As an added benefit the MiniCore RCM5700 offers the lowest profile of any embedded solution. At only 0.1 (5 cm) in height, the RCM5700 delivers unprecedented flexibility to place network connectivity anywhere onto a customer-designed mother board.
The RCM5700 has a Rabbit 5000 microprocessor operating at up to 50.0 MHz, flash memory, two clocks (main oscillator and timekeeping), and the circuitry necessary for reset and management of battery backup of the Rabbit 5000’s internal real-time clock and the on-chip SRAM. An edge connector brings out the RCM5700 I/O bus lines, parallel ports, and serial ports to a 52-pin mini PCI Express socket on the motherboard the RCM5700 is mounted on.
