| Bluegiga provides Health Device Profile for its Bluetooth OEM Modules |
| |
Bluegiga announced that its OEM Bluetooth modules are now available with Bluetooth Health Device Profile (HDP). The Health Device profile is integrated into Bluegiga’s iWRAP firmware, running inside the Bluegiga module, significantly simplifying and reducing the need for engineering and testing time for any type of health or medical device. Bluegiga’s Health Device Bluetooth profile with Bluegiga OEM module helps to develop wireless features into existing or new devices with very limited amount of engineering. The Health Device Profile is available for both Bluegiga WT11 Class 1 module and Bluegiga WT12 Class 2 module which use CSR silicon and run Bluegiga’s iWRAP Bluetooth connectivity firmware. Bluegiga is the first in the world to offer HDP for CSR based silicon. Bluegiga Access Servers and Access Points will support the HDP Bluetooth Profile later in 2009, enabling integrators to setup secure and reliable telehealth networks utilizing Bluetooth.

| Digi releases 802.11a/b/g secure embedded networking core |
| |

New module is targeted for environments with wireless interference
Devices can now be networked in the common 802.11b/g 2.4 GHz band or the uncrowded 802.11a 5 GHz band for improved reliability and performance. The ConnectCore is targeted for busy environments such as hospitals or airports, or for transmitting sensitive information such as financial transactions or patient records.
The ConnectCore Wi-9P 9215 is pre-certified for 802.11a/b/g networking by the FCC in North America and other regulatory organizations in Europe and Japan. This certification may be applied to end-user devices designed with the module so customers don't have to perform wireless certifications. The ConnectCore Wi-9P 9215 also features security including WEP, WPA, WPA2/ 802.11i and on-chip AES acceleration for encryption 10 times faster than software-only solutions.
The ConnectCore Wi-9P 9215 is pin-compatible and interchangeable with the wired ConnectCore 9P 9215. This allows embedded developers to support wired and wireless secure networking in one compatible footprint and with a single development effort. ConnectCore Wi-9P 9215 Product Brief

| New system architecture for energy-autonomous sensors and wireless sensor networks |
| |
EnOcean launched its Dolphin system architecture setting entirely new standards in wireless sensor networks. Dolphin enables energy-autonomous actuators, bidirectional communication of sensors and innovative routing concepts, creating the foundation for a wide variety of new products and applications. EnOcean Dolphin allows on-demand matching and continuous optimisation of central system features such as energy budget, peripheral functionalities and wireless communication. The length of wireless telegrams, for example, is minimised dynamically to the data content for transmission, and in programming only those software function blocks actually needed by the user are saved to memory.
