| AAT1160 : 12V, 3A Step-Down DC/DC Converter |
| |
The AAT1160 is an 800kHz high efficiency step-down DC/DC converter. With a wide input voltage range of 4.0V to 13.2V, the AAT1160 is an ideal choice for dual-cell Lithium-ion battery-powered devices and mid-power- range regulated 12V-powered industrial applications. The internal power switches are capable of delivering up to 3A to the load.
The AAT1160 is a highly integrated device, simplifying system-level design. Minimum external components are required for the converter.
The AAT1160 optimizes efficiency throughout the entire load range. It operates in a combination PWM/Light Load mode for improved light-load efficiency. It can also operate in a forced Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) mode for easy control of the switching noise as well as faster transient response. The high switching frequency allows the use of small external components. The low current shutdown feature disconnects the load from VIN and drops shutdown current to less than 1µA.
Applications:
* Distributed Power Systems
* Industrial Applications
* Laptop Computers
* Portable DVD Players
* Portable Media Players
* Set-Top Boxes
* TFT LCD Monitors and HDTVs

| 1A, ultra low dropout voltage regulators |
| |
The new XC6220 Series of voltage regulators from Torex Semiconductor offer exceptionally low dropout voltage – typically 20mV with a 100mA load. These high current, ultra-low dropout voltage regulators provide a highly stable, low noise supply that meets the demands of battery-driven circuits such as those found in disk drives, digital and video cameras and portable AV equipment. The XC6220 Series consists of a voltage reference, an error amplifier, a current limiter, an inrush current prevention circuit and a phase compensation circuit plus a driver transistor and, with Torex’s innovative GreenOperation (GO) function, battery life can be extended greatly. Available in the tiny USP-6C package (1.8 x 2.0 x 0.6mm), as well as in standard SOT-25 and SOT-89-5 versions. Datasheet: XC6220

| Dual high speed, low noise LDO regulators |
| |
The new XC6416 dual LDO regulators incorporate Torex’s innovative GreenOperation (GO) technology. With this GO function, power consumption can be greatly reduced as the IC automatically switches from high speed mode, where power consumption is typically 28 µA per channel, to power save mode, just 5.0 µA per channel, when load current is small (1.5mA or less). The XC6416 device quickly returns to high speed mode once again as the load current demand reaches 4mA and above. The XC6419 on the other hand is a dual LDO where one of the regulators has a high 300mA output capability and the other a more standard 100mA compared to the 200mA per channel of the XC6416. The XC6416 and XC6419 Series are available in an ultra small USP-6C package, which measures just 1.8mm x 2.0mm x 0.6mm, as well as the small SOT-26, these dual output devices meet the demands of battery-powered applications where small size and low power consumption are key design criteria. | New dual voltage supervisor module in SOT-25 |
| |
Combining the XC6108 with the XC6109 voltage supervisor in one small SOT-25 package, the XCM410 Series is the newest multi-chip module from Torex Semiconductor and features an ultra-low power consumption of only 1.7µA. The supervisor IC is ideal for those applications that need to monitor more than one voltage rail with a high degree of accuracy, such as microprocessor re-set circuits, memory battery back-up switch circuits and power failure detection circuits. The XCM410 operates from a supply voltage within a range of 1.0V to 6.0V and is a semi-custom product with two voltage sense pins, VSEN and VIN. Two different detect voltages can be selected internally, in 0.1V increments, from 0.8V~5.0V (Channel 1) and 1.1V~5.0V (Channel 2).
Features:
* Detect voltages fixed internally so fewer external components required
* Only 1.7uA power consumption
* High precision detection +/-2% (>1.5V) +/-30mV (<1.5V)
* Open drain output enables non-limited pull-up termination

| Two synchronous step-down DC/DCs integrated in one packages |
| |
The new XCM517 Series multi-chip module (MCM) from Torex Semiconductor combines two XC9235/XC9236 synchronous step-down DC/DC converters in a space saving ultra small USP-12B01 (2.8mm x 2.3mm x 0.6mm) package. These highly integrated devices are suitable for space conscious battery-driven applications, such as mobile phones, PDAs, digital cameras and other portable equipment. The IC operates from a supply voltage within a range of 2.7V to 6.0V and switching frequency can be selected from 1.2MHz or 3.0MHz to suit the application. As for operation mode, the XCM517 xA and xB models are available with PWM control and the XCM517 xC and xD models are user-selectable as either PWM or PWM/PFM automatic switching control via the CE/Mode pin. With the PWM/PFM automatic switching control mode, where ripple voltage control is normally difficult, the XCM517 achieves a low ripple operation of less than 10mV across the full load range and 92% efficiency (typ).
