HV9910B universal high brightness LED driver Logo

The HV9910B is an open loop current mode control LED driver IC. The HV9910B can be programmed to operate in either a constant frequency or constant off-time mode. It includes an 8 – 450V linear regulator which allows it to work from a wide range of input voltages without the need for an external low voltage supply. The HV9910B includes a PWM dimming input that can accept an external control signal with a duty ratio of 0 – 100% and a frequency of up to a few kilohertz. It also includes a 0 – 250mV linear dimming input which can be used for linear dimming of the LED current.

Switch-mode LED driver IC with high current accuracy and Hiccup Mode Protection Logo

The HV9912 is a current mode control LED driver IC designed to control single switch PWM converters (buck, boost, buck-boost or SEPIC) in a constant frequency mode. The controller uses a peak current-mode control scheme with programmable slope compensation and includes an internal transconductance amplifier to control the output current in closed loop enabling high output current accuracy (in the case of buck and buck-boost converters, the output current can be sensed using a high side current sensor like the HV7800).

New Three-channel, constant current, LED driver IC family offers simple design solutions Logo

Supertex introduced a family of three LED driver ICs, the CL320, CL325, and CL330, each consisting of three channels of constant current output, designed to drive three LEDstrings at currents of 20mA, 25mA, and 30mA each, respectively. Each part comes in an 8-lead, power SOIC package. The only external component required is a single ceramic bypass capacitor, making the PCB designs extremely simple, and the same capacitor may be shared with several drivers. Separate enable pins for each channel allow pulse width modulated (PWM) dimming, three-step linear dimming, or individual disconnection of any faulty LED string.

Seoul Semi squeezes 240 lumens at 1A from single-chip LED Logo

Containing a single die, the P4 emits 240 lm at a drive current of 1 A. Further, the device has the industry’s highest luminous efficacy of 100 lm/W when operated at 350 mA. Both Nichia and Cree have reported efficacy values in excess of 130 lm/W, but these values were for white LEDs based on small-size chips and driven at 20 mA. SSC has ambitious plans to improve the luminous efficacy of the P4 up to 135 lm/W by 2007, and to 145 lm/W by the first quarter of 2008.

Upgraded design and improved brightness of Acriche by 20% to 48 lm/W Logo

Seoul Semiconductor released Acriche 2W single emitter of octagon type, a brighter and new design of the innovative semiconductor lighting source that runs directly from AC power without converters. Acriche 2W single emitter of octagon type has a luminous efficacy of 48 lm/W, which is 20% brighter than the version the company began mass producing last November. This level of brightness is comparable to conventional LEDs which report 57 lm/W but experience a 20% loss in conversion. Seoul Semiconductor plans to increase Acriches luminous efficacy to 80 lm/W in the fourth quarter of 2007, and to 120 lm/W in 2008.

Warm White Acriche of 42 lm/W Energy-Efficient Light Source Produces Near-Daylight Quality Logo

Acriche, the world’s first semiconductor lighting source for AC power outlets, can now achieve warm white of near-daylight quality, making it suitable for general and indoor lighting applications. The warm white Acriche features 42 lm/W based on light source. Actual System Efficiency – which takes into account luminous efficacy, ballast efficiency and luminaire efficiency – for the warm white Acriche is 39.9 lm/W. This is higher than 7.5 lm/W for incandescent lamps and 30.6 lm/W for compact fluorescents.

Acriche Delivers Higher Brightness by 50% Logo

Seoul Semiconductor released an upgraded version of Acriche, the world's first semiconductor lighting source for AC power outlets in US, Europe and Asia. The new Acriche, package type emitting 200 lumens, is being provided as an emitter with features including higher brightness of 200 lumens at 3.3 Watt, which is nearly 60 lm/W or 50% brighter than the version released last November. Due to its advanced high-yield device fabrication methods and the economics of high capacity, Seoul Semiconductor is able to reduce the price of the enhanced version of Acriche by 40%, making it more competitively priced to penetrate the conventional lighting market.

LED Light Source plugs directly into AC power outlets Logo

The latest version of the Acriche LED comes in a package emitting 200lm at 3.3W, nearly 50% brighter than the previous version. Thanks to advanced high-yield device-fabrication methods, the new device is also 40% cheaper. The device plugs directly into the AC power outlets of homes and offices without the need for an AC/DC converter. It is sold as a single emitter without the heat-sink PCB, which enables greater flexibility for users to design the PCB type and array emitters as they see fit. The Acriche can be used in power systems ranging from 100 to 120V and 220 to 230V.
