The AAT1210 is a general purpose high power DC/DC boost (step-up) converter with an input voltage range from 2.7 to 5.5V. The output voltage can be set from VIN +0.5V to 18V. The ultra-small solution size and high operating efficiency makes the AAT1210 the ideal solution for battery powered and consumer applications.The step-up converter operates at frequencies up to 2MHz, enabling ultra-small external filtering components. Hysteretic current mode control provides excellent transient response with no external compensation, achieving stability across a wide operating range with minimal design effort.

Low noise switching regulators from AnalogicTech are an Industry first

At lower currents, the AAT2120 and AAT2158 switching regulators produce half the ringing amplitude of competing switching regulators. This characteristic translates directly into lower noise injection into the system. In system tests, spurious energy injected by the switching regulators was reduced by 3dB. At higher currents, the two new converters produce approximately 25% less output ripple. By reducing injected noise and output ripple, these two new devices can improve the dynamic range performance of RF systems compared to powering these systems with traditional switching regulators.
At the same time the AAT2120 and AAT2158 offer all the traditional power efficiency advantages of traditional switching regulators. Power efficiency for the AAT2120 and AAT2158 reach up to 96% and 95% respectively. Moreover, by operating at high switching frequencies, both devices minimise the size of external components.

Over-voltage protection switch protects battery-operated devices

The AAT4684 switch protects low-voltage systems against high-voltage spikes up to 28V from a power line surge or using the wrong charger while offering a low RDS(ON) of 100 milliohms typical at 4.5V. The OVP protection IC uses a P-channel MOSFET power switch to break the connection between the charger adapter and the battery charger when the input voltage exceeds a preset level. Designers can use the device with either an internally programmed over-voltage trip point or an adjustable protection threshold programmed by two external resistors. OVP response is 1-µs maximum. The AAT4684 features an under-voltage lockout (UVLO) protection circuit which places the device into sleep mode at input voltages consuming < 1 µA. Quiescent current for the AAT4684 is 30-µA typical.

Supertex introduced two new high side current monitor ICs, the HV7801 and the HV7802.Both ICs feature a very wide operating range of 8V-450V. Both the HV7801 and the HV7802 boast fast rise and fall times of 700ns, low quiescent currents of 50uA, and space-saving packages. They are well suited for markets such as motor controls, off-line sensors, instrumentation amplifiers, and current sensing for high voltage LED drivers, batteries, and switched- mode power supplies. The HV7801 is available in a 5-lead SOT23 package (HV7801K1-G) and the HV7802 is available in an 8-lead MSOP package (HV7802MG-G). The parts are “Green” and RoHS compliant.

Ultra Low Capacitance Steering Diode Array in a SOT-543 Package

ProTek Devices introduces the ultra low capacitance, 0.6pF USB002 steering diode array. This device is designed to protect applications such as wireless telecommunication devices, PCMCIA cards, portable electronics and digital cameras. The USB002 is available in an ultra small SOT-543 package sized at 1.6mm x 1.6mm. This is a 52% real estate saving advantage over the SOT-143 package.
The USB002 is ideally suited to protect USB data I/O ports against ESD and EFT, specifically USB and USB OTG applications. It can also be used to protect video inputs as in the case of HDMI applications.This device meets the requirements of IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD) and 61000-4-4 (EFT). At higher operating frequencies or faster edge rates, insertion loss and signal integrity are a major concern. The USB002 has an ultra low 0.6pF Capacitance per I/O measured to ground. Shock-safe Fuseholder for high current application and 400 V Three-Phase systems

SCHURTER released the first PCB vertical mount shocksafe fuseholder FUA, which offers an enhanced rated power acceptance and rated current. With the 500 VAC approved voltage rating at VDE, the fuseholder is also suitable for threephase systems. It accepts with its screw type fuse carrier either 5x20 mm or 6.3x32 mm cartridge fuses. The new fuseholder is RoHS compliant and is approved by VDE for 500 VAC, 16 A and by UL/CSA for 250 VAC, 30 A. It has a rated power acceptance of 4 W @ 16 A @ 23°C which is unique in the market for PCB shock-safe fuseholders.
