The CMX138A, an upgrade based on the CMX138 IC, is intended for use in half duplex analog two-way radios or family radio equipment, particularly suited to enhanced MURS, GMRS, PMR446 and FRS designs. Highly integrated by design, the device provides a user programmable frequency inversion audio scrambler with signal processing functions, CTCSS, DCS and in-band tones, allowing comprehensive voice processing and tone control.
Key enhancements for the CMX138A include: improved limiter functions, enhanced CTCSS and DCS performance, a new input Automatic Gain Control (AGC) function, in-band tone operation enabled down to 288 Hz, and improved audio compandor which enhances the performance of compressed signals. These developments are designed to provide even greater levels of tone control and voice processing, making the CMX138A the complete audio solution.

PLX Technology announced the live demonstration of the only PCI Express (PCIe) Gen 3 switch moving data at eight gigabits per second/per lane over optical fiber in conjunction with a powerful new flash-based, high-density, server-deployed memory tier.   PCIe is native to all servers and storage systems, and its usage over low-cost optics to cluster systems together in data centers and the cloud is expected to revolutionize the industry. PCIe over fiber promises to offer higher performance and greater distance at a lower price than standard PCIe cabling used today.   PCIe Gen 3 in an eight lane configuration can transfer 64 gigabits of data per second, which is a six-fold improvement over 10Gbit Ethernet and with significantly less power required.
PLX expects its new PCIe Gen 3 switch family, which will be sampling later this year, to be the first switches in the industry fully compliant with the upcoming release of the PCI Special Interest Groups (PCI-SIG®) PCIe Gen 3 protocol.  PLX is now shipping more than one million units of PCIe products per quarter from its industry-leading ExpressLane™ family.

Silicon Labs and Xilinx Partner to Deliver Industry-Leading Jitter Performance and Flexibility for Broadcast Video.  Xilinx’s Virtex-6 FPGA and Spartan-6 FPGA Broadcast Connectivity Kits use Silicon Labs’ Si5324 clock IC to address the increasing complexity of clock synthesis in broadcast video applications. These applications require a frequency flexible solution for clock synchronization and generation in high-definition serial digital interface (HD-SDI) and 3G SDI designs. The Si5324 generates a wide range of video clock rates synchronized to an HYSNC signal or reference clock input while eliminating the need for external VCXO and loop filter components. In addition, the Si5324 delivers programmable sub-10 Hz jitter attenuation bandwidth and industry-leading jitter performance of 5 picoseconds peak to peak, providing significant margin to 3G SDI standards.

The Bridgelux LS Array Series now includes options designed specifically for low voltage lighting. The new miniaturized LS arrays enable both diffuse and directional light sources for applications including landscape lighting, residential lighting, track lighting, MR16 lamps and other 12 volt retrofit light bulbs.
